I've played all of the Midnight Mysteries games, and in fact gave a rave review to Salem Witch Trials. Had just finished Devil on the Mississippi, and launched into this one with full enthusiam. To my utter disappointment, this one turned to be nitpicky and at times ludicrous. Normally, I can stockpile my hints so that if I get stuck somewhere, I have clues to spare. In this one, I not only kept using up my hints in sheer frustration, but actually had to resort to keeping a walkthrough open just to figure out what I was supposed to do next. Completely illogical requirements (I have to equip the hospital room where Houdini died? Really?) and no real sense of direction, far too many teensy weensy things to collecct (9 keys was bad enough, but thirty two pieces of a billboard?). The game became so frustrating that I lost sight of the very intriguing story, which is excellent, as are all of the MM series. I don'r regret buying it, per se, since it is part of my collection now, but found it extremely annoying to play.
